Czech govt ought to sack its ambassador to EU Vicenova - press Prague, Jan 2 (CTK) - The government of Petr Necas (Civic Democrats, ODS) ought to dismiss Milena Vicenova as the Czech ambassador to the European Union because she recommends that the country participate in the financial aid to the euro zone, Daniel Kaiser writes in Lidove noviny (LN) daily today. Kaiser refers to an interview with Vicenova released in the LN on Saturday. By participation in the aid to the euro zone Vicenova means first of all a loan to the International Monetary Fund, Kaiser says. Vicenova presented the arguments supporting the loan but she almost did not mention those against it in a situation where a majority of the government seems to be against the loan, he writes. According to present information, the Czech Republic should earmark 3.5 billion euros, or approximately one-tenth of its central bank's forex reserves, to the IMF to help stabilise the euro zone. Only one of the three coalition parties, TOP 09, expressed supported to the loan. The cabinet will be further discussing the issue in the next weeks. Standard ambassadors in standard places promote the policy of their government but Vicenova promotes the policy of the environment she was sent to, Kaiser points out. Brussels is no standard place for a diplomatic mission due to its uniformity of opinions. Domestication in the Eurocratic glasshouse is a frequent phenomenon that can be seen in cases of diplomats, politicians and journalists from other countries, too, Kaiser writes. Only very strong personalities do not succumb to the influence of the local atmosphere if they stay in Brussels too long. It is obvious that Vicenova has been there too long and Necas´s government should dismiss her, Kaiser concludes. kva/t/rtj
